Cardel met with the client to review the project and understand their design expectations. We then met with the structural firm to review the design, costs and timing factors. After several rounds of prototypes and fine tuning, the final design was approved.
To maintain visual consistency with related printed pieces, and retain as much local control over production as possible, Cardel took the unusual step of separating printing and finishing. Printing was done in Chicago, and flat press sheets were sent to the structural firm in Dallas for die-cutting. Final assembly for the slide reveals was done in Mexico. The completed insert was then shipped back to the printer in Chicago for final assembly and stitching together with the outer 4 pages of the brochure.
Cardel coordinated the communications between printer and finisher, making sure that everyone had the proper press layouts, die-lines and all other needed information to print and finish the 4-page slider insert correctly.
